SIZING INFO
You can get support for sizing on our Renegade® Sizing page.
The size designations are the actual hoof boot dimensions. It is recommended to select a boot size that is about 5-10mm longer and wider than the given hoof measurements after a proper Natural Style Trim. For your convenience, lots of sizing information, examples, a Renegade® sizing chart and an Inch / Millimeter Converter can also be found on our Renegade® Sizing page.
The sizing scheme for the Viper™ uses the metric system while also conforming to the industry standard length first then width second. So a boot that is 135 mm long and 125 mm wide will be size 135x125.
There are three width choices for every length.
ULTRA DURABLE
The material used to make the Viper™ is a new, ultra durable polyurethane resulting in a much longer lasting boot.
You can expect 600-800 miles out of Viper hoof boots in Standard Colors.
Limited Edition may be slightly softer material due to colour processes.

The Renegade® Viper™ Hoof Boot is the next-generation hoof boot for barefoot horses. While incorporating the same competition-proven pivoting heel captivator design, cabling system, and straps as the Renegade® Classic Hoof Boot, the Renegade® Viper™ Hoof Boot features many new upgrades including a sleeker look and bright new colors, while the deeper tread displays the artistic talent of the Viper's™ designer, Kirt Lander, showing off the boot's aggressive side where it counts. With deeper grooves for longer lasting tread, and an unforgiving look, the Viper™ tread will bite the ground better than any other hoof boot that came before.
The Viper™ has been trimmed down, removing material using finite element analysis, resulting in a hoof boot that is, despite the more robust tread, about 15% lighter than the Classic, and with more lateral clearance on both the Boot Shell and the Heel Captivator. A deeper Heel Captivator 'gullet' allows for improved pastern bone clearance.
The material used to make the Viper™ is a new, ultra durable polyurethane resulting in a much longer lasting boot. The inside of the boot is texturized and the Heel Captivator Liner is bonded in place, both for more stability in action. The Viper™ logo and boot size are stamped very large inside of each boot for quick and easy size readability.

Does my horse need Vipers or Classic Hoof Boots?
Read our article on the differences and benefits of each model of hoof boot here.
Can I add customizations?
Yes. Simply click on your desired options from above and add them to your cart. Be sure to add any information in the cart notes - for example if you buy 4 boots but want to swap heel captivators on only two, or add studs only on the front boots, please provide plenty of detail so we can make the customizations to the right boots!
What if I want to buy more than one boot?
Just adjust the quantity for each size / model boot you need. Please let us know in the notes field at checkout which hoof the boots will go on, so we can put the velcro on facing the right way for each hoof.
If you buy a pair or a set of 4 we will assume that these are going left and right and put the velcro on as a pair or a set.
How long will Renegade hoof boots last?
Mileage will depend on the terrain, speed, and how the horse moves. On average, it is expected to get 500-600 miles out of the Classic model, and 600-800 miles out of the Vipers.
Abrasive rough terrain, or horses who drag their toes will likely get fewer miles out of their boots.
