Removing your Renegade® Hoof Boots & After Ride Care

Removing your Renegade® Hoof Boots & After Ride Care

Removing your Renegade® hoof boots should be swift and hassle free - and take just a few seconds! We really didn't need to make you a guide but as some hoof boot brands can be hard to undo and remove, this is just to show how simple and force free it really is to take off your Renegades.

1. Push the end of the pastern strap under the rubber keeper loop and peel the velcro strap open. Most riders also unfasten the toe strap now (although you don't have to) to save time unfastening it when you reinstall the hoof boots next time.

3. Pick up the hoof and pull the heel captivator downward over the heel bulbs until it is under the sole of the hoof boot.

4. Use your thumb to push downward on the back of the hoof boot base and push the boot off the hoof.

After care for your Renegade® hoof boots

Be sure to clean your hoof boots well, especially if you encountered muddy conditions or salt water during use. A quick rinse in a bucket or spray with a hose is the best method. Do not soak the boots for an extended period in water; it may cause discoloration of the boot material.

Dried mud or grass fragments on the straps will reduce their holding power and may cause boot retention problems. These straps are considered “wear items” and may need to be replaced periodically (you can buy them individually here) but…. if you keep them clean and free from dried mud they can last the life of the boot.

Always inspect the cables and straps for damage or wear, just to be safe.

When finished cleaning, reinsert the pastern strap and store in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
